Holiday Beauty Looks For Every Vibe

Now that the holiday season is upon us, we can’t help but start shopping and planning looks for all the dinner parties and get-togethers. This time, we are taking inspiration from Aimee’s recent Paris Fashion Week beauty looks. We love the mix of bold and subtle looks – perfect for any setting this holiday. For this beauty guide, we sat down with Allison Deprieste (Aimee’s go-to makeup artist in Paris!) on how she started working with Aimee, her beauty essentials and all the details of Aimee’s PFW looks.

How did you start working with Aimee and what is your all-time favorite Fashion Week look?

Aimee and I met on set, shooting for a jewelry campaign in Paris. I did a soft smokey eye with very natural & glowy skin and she loved it! My all-time favorite look with Aimee was a liquid gold eye makeup look for the Chloe show. She reached out to me and said ‘hey let’s do some fun looks for fashion week’, so I took her word and came with my makeup painter haha!

She was wearing this beautiful silky gold Chloe dress, and I thought let’s recreate a touch of this silky gold effect on her face. I started by a black halo smokey eye and topped the model eyelid with some gold pigments that I mixed in.

What is special about fashion week makeup looks in comparison to commercial and campaign looks?

To me, fashion week is an opportunity to dare to do more things, to be more playful, maybe to start some trends and inspire people. These looks are ephemeral so everyone can be bolder and express themselves. If not now then, when? The hair and makeup also need to look good under all angles, survive rain or shine, accolades, face expressions and look good both up close and from afar.

It’s a fun challenge to be bold and balanced at the same time. It also needs to stay in place as you have no more control over it once it’s done, while for a campaign you can touch up as much as you want. So these are all details to take into consideration. :)

What are your beauty essentials?

I usually love change but there are a few products I can’t live without in my kit and repurchase every time: the Inglot Illuminating Powder , the Mac Oval C Brush, the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, the Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentré, the SisleYouth Anti-Pollution Energizing Hydrating Youth Protector, Clarins Double Serum, the Le Correcteur De Chanel Longwear Concealer and Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge.

Rhinestone Chic

I kept the makeup as clean, glowy & minimal as possible apart from the rhinestones! I used the pink shade of the shimmering palette from Kryolan as blush + highlighter, applied all the way from the eyelids to the cheekbones. Then I used a clear gel on top of that to create a sticky, yet glowy, base to allow the rhinestones to stick without using glue.

80s Vibe

This was the second look on that same day from Fashion Week. Aimee’s skin was still very glossy from the rhinestone morning look, so I just touched it up with a little bit of Tom ford foundation stick. For the holiday eye makeup, I used a mix of 3 colors form the Huda Beauty Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette , 2 pinks, and one deep green. I applied them with fingers for maximum intensity, then blended outwards. I also used the Flamingo shade from the Huda Beauty Rose Gold Remastered Eyeshadow Palette as blush, applied in a C shape all the way from the eye corner to the cheekbone with a Mac Angled brush 168.

Pops of Lavender

Aimee already had a base from the previous look so I touched up and refreshed the skin with the Sisley Paris Black Rose Precious Face oil and Tom Ford Foundation Stick in 03. The eyes are the main statement for this look. I used Kryolan lavender shade from the Kryolan Shimmering Vision Cream Palette as a base. This base will make the color more intense and give a smooth finish to the eye makeup. I topped it with the lavender eyeshadow from the Shu Uemura Brave Beauty Pink Palette and used Le crayon Khol Lancome 031 Indigo Paris and Collistar Shock Eyeliner in 105 as a winged eyeliner for a soft, blended effect.
