Hi everyone! This is Maggie from the Song of Style team and I am taking over this blog post today. It was my first time attending New York Fashion Week and the three things I learned were:
1. How much Aimee can eat in a day;
2. No one sleeps during fashion weeks;
3. Plan everything ahead of time – schedule, location to take photos, meals, and outfits! And always be prepared.
When I was planning my outfits, I prioritized on functionality and comfort because I knew that I would be doing a lot of standing and walking throughout the day. I brought my favorite pieces from the Song of Style collection and here is how I styled them each day.
Prints and colors are not usually my thing but under Aimee’s influence, I started to wear a lot of bold, fun pieces and I’m not mad at it. I styled this Song of Style Lula Top with an oversized yellow button down shirt (similar here) and straight leg yellow trousers. I wore my favorite pair of Celine Ballerina Pumps throughout the entire New York Fashion Week, which goes to show how comfortable they really are.
Oversized blazers are my wardrobe staple. I am size XS in tops and I grabbed this Song of Style Greta Blazer in size Medium from the office. I styled it with a white t-shirt and a pair of slit hem pants (affordable option here). These Nanushka padded sandals (similar here) are the comfiest shoes ever – it feels like you’re walking on sponges!
