Six months ago, My SOS team and I moved into our new office at WeWork. We have been loving the inviting community, the creative work environment and everything else WeWork has to offer. However, the way our office was originally furnished lacked individuality. As creatives and suckers for good interior design, we finally took action to demolish the traditional office look, with the help of Urban Outfitters.
A more collaborative layout
First thing we did was to move the desk from facing the walls to two groupings facing each other. Now we can see each other’s beautiful faces without having to turn our chairs around.
Bring the office to life
Plants are our best friends when it comes to brightening up and energizing a space. Every corner of my house is blessed with greenery and I wanted to bring that to our office at WeWork. As much as I prefer real plants, species like fiddle leaf figs require so much love and attention that I worry they may not thrive in the office. So before we hit the LA flower market, we made our way to the Urban Outfitters site to opt for some faux plants. Are you able to spot the fake ones at a glance?
One of my favorite, and perhaps the most important changes we made in the office is adding this Cora Kilim woven rug. It covered up most of the
light wood floor and brightened up the entire space. The print gave the space just the right amount of texture without asking for too much attention.
Sometimes we overlook small details like adding a mental essence, which is my trick to elevate any interior space. This Gumball floor lamp and Hollyce side table completed this corner of the office with the perfect shade of gold to complement the other muted colors.
The art work added so much more character to the office. We had Megan Galante Hey Ladies Art Print on one side of the office and mpgmb Shape Study 1 Lola Collection Art Print on the other side. Along with some decorations and plants, our office desks now look much more instagramable from every angle.
