What’s On Our Beauty Shelves and Spring Skincare Routine

As the weather gets hotter, not only do we switch out our clothes, but also our skincare routine! We want to show you our #shelfies as that’s where we store our most used beauty products!

Aimee’s

Skin type: Dry and sensitive

Routine: I’m quite picky when it comes to skincare, so whatever products are on my bathroom shelves are ones that I truly love. I cleanse my face daily with the Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser I then apply the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence right after. This essence is one product that has stayed on my beauty shelves for years, it is pricey but I really can’t live without it!

I’m a big fan of facial oils because I have really dry skin. I have a couple I use on rotation. My go-to is the Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil because it’s great for eczema but I’ve also been trying the INDIE LEE Daily Skin Nutrition. It contains sugarcane-derived squalane, rosehip seed, and avocado oils.

Not gonna lie, I didn’t have the best habit of applying eye creams nightly but I’m trying to get into it! I have been using the Cle de Peau Beaute Eye Cream Supreme, which is a super rich and hydrating cream. If you’re looking for a good but cheaper option, I really like the Kiehl’s Avocado Eye Cream as well.

Sophia’s

Skin type: Sensitive dry skin, prone to skin allergy.

Routine: After 4 allergy break-outs, I stripped down my skincare routine to only a few steps with products that are super gentle. I first use the Bioderma Micellar Water to take off my makeup, then I double-cleanse with the Kopari Coconut Cleansing Oil. This cleansing oil is my holy grail, it takes off all my makeup without drying out my skin. I will occasionally wash my face with the Foreo Luna Mini for exfoliation (using it daily is too harsh for my skin).

I tried the Biossance 100% Squalane Oil for the first time a month ago and I’m obsessed with it. I have extremely dry skin and this Squalane Oil is one of the few products that actually leaves my skin feeling hydrated. If I need extra moisture, I’d add a layer of the Embryolisse Concentrated Cream. I tried this cream after seeing Aimee’s makeup artist use it to prep her skin and I fell in love. This is already my 4th tube!

I also have three masks that I use on rotation: First Aid Beauty Oatmeal Mask to calm down any redness or rashes, LANEIGE Water Sleeping Mask for extra hydration, and the I’m From Honey Mask for deep moisturizing.

Patricia’s

Skin type: Oily Skin

Routine: I swear by this ever so popular Banila Co Clean It Zero for makeup removal, and cleanse with the Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser. Some nights I exfoliate with the Cure Natural Aqua Gel, this is my ride or die. It’s my favorite exfoliator because it’s water-based and very gentle. I get baby soft skin after using this. For hydration, I like using a mix of the Aesop Fabulous Face Oil and Aesop Lightweight Hydrating Serum. Like Aimee, I also really like the Kiehl’s Avocado Eye Cream for my under-eye.

Maggie’s:

Skin Type: Dry Skin

Routine: One product that got me used to using only my hands to remove my makeup is the Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm. I would get a good chunk of the product using the scoop it comes with and melt it in between my fingers before I get in there on my face. The temperature of your hands aids the work of the balm and it works wonders at removing my stubborn waterproof mascara. Plus, it’s a good way to be more eco-friendly by consuming less cotton pads.

Two products that I keep re-purchasing are the Kiehl’s Hydro-plumping Re-texturizing Serum Concentrate and the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream. They are my can’t-live-without’s for my dry skin all year round. I could not find a second serum that has the same consistency as the Kiehl’s Hydro-plumping Re-texturizing Serum Concentrate – it’s not watery or sticky and feels luxurious on the skin, thus the perfect texture. Moreover, my number one skincare pet peeve is products that are heavily scented and these products are not. Big shout out to Kiehl’s!
