I can’t believe my trip to Malaysia has come to an end. I will definitely miss waking up to the sound of the rainforest with the rustling leaves, waves crashing and the birds chirping. Ahhh it was truly relaxing. For the first time in a longtime I wasn’t as active on social media, I was too busy soaking up the sun and enjoying this little patch of paradise in Langkawi.
Since Malaysia is in Southeast Asia, beach weather is enjoyed all year round! (Isn’t that amazing?) When I was packing for this trip, I picked out fun spring pieces from Self Portrait’s new swimwear line.
Self-Portrait’s debut swimwear line has the most feminine prints and silhouettes. I love the art deco print on this draped bikini top (similar here and under $100 here) that I paired with the draped floral mini skirt (similar here). The bikini top is so stylish that I didn’t have to change my outfit for dinner, I just threw on this asymmetrical skirt over my bottoms.
Langkawi was so much fun. I spent most of my time in the water. I’m not the best swimmer, but floating around the pool and the beach felt so natural! I found some little crabs too while I was walking barefoot along the shore.
On our yacht day, we explored the neighboring islands near our hotel. I wore this Self Portrait Floral Draped Bikini Top to match with my Self Portrait Floral Highwaisted Bikini Brief. I love that this bottom was high-waisted. I was able to munch on snacks on the boat and not worry about having a food baby haha! I accessorized the whole look with my Celine sunglasses and some gold accessories.
For our first dinner, we all gathered to watch the beautiful sunset by the beach and I wore this Self Portrait Crochet Floral Dress (similar here and affordable here). I have been wearing a lot of maxi dresses and this crochet version is perfect for the humid weather. I completed the whole look with my By Far January Bow-detailed metallic leather sandals (similar here and here). I didn’t wear them all night because walking barefoot was the best thing ever. (Did I mention it’s instant foot scrub too?)
Here are a few frames from my Instagram stories. I was always the first one at dinner! I looked forward to the tropical fruit spread we had at every meal because the fruit in Malaysia is so good.
Another dinner means another opportunity to play dress up! I picked this Self Portrait Cream Tired Midi dress (similar here and here) from their spring collection. I love the combination of lace and pleats in this dress; it felt so light despite the tiered detail on the bottom.
We visited a tiny town center near our hotel and found this quaint street food stall. It was so inviting that I just had to stop and try everything. We explored deeper into the city and I learned so much from their culture. That day, I wore this Self Portrait Asymmetrical Floral Printed Dress similar here and here. The dress was simply perfect for the touristy things we did.
