How to Casually Style A Polka Dot Skirt

May 3, 2018 - 37 Comments

Two Songs, ‘Tits Out’, shirt / Frame Corset Belt (similar here and affordable here) / Rixo London Polka Dot Skirt (similar here and here) / Who What Wear Clear Sandals (similar here and here) / LPA Woven Handbag (similar here and affordable here) / Paola Vilas Abstract Earrings (more abstract earrings here and here) / Poppy Lissiman Skinny Sunglasses (similar here and affordable here)In today’s edition of how to dress up a plain white t-shirt (which everyone owns), add a flowy polka dot skirt and an oversized belt! On this day my only plan was to grab a casual lunch with a friend and then head on over to the office to get some work done and catch up with my team. I wore a Two Songs, ‘Tits Out’, shirt, corset-style Frame corset belt (similar here and affordable here), and then added this comfortable Rixo London polka dot maxi skirt (similar here and here) with cool slit details, which I have to say looked stunning in action while I was walking around town.My Rixo London polka dot skirt (similar here and here) is a recent purchase. I recently wore one of their dresses in Dallas, and is definitely becoming one of my favorite brands to watch.  The brand was only founded in 2015 by London College of Fashion alumni Henrietta Rix and Orlagh McClosky aka RIXO and needless to say, I am falling head over heels with their cool-girl prints and vintage inspired pieces.  Even though my skirt is in a classic polka dot print (which you all know I am loving considering I did a shopping guide on polka dots) the slits in the skirt make it different and add a unique flare.

I wore Who What Wear clear sandals (similar here and here) which of course means they are available at Target and affordable. Not only does the chunky heel make it easy to walk in, the clear straps make the shoes the perfect on-trend addition to your shoe closet. Lucite and clear details in shoes are everywhere this season and a must-have!

Of course I needed my Poppy Lissiman skinny sunglasses (similar here and affordable here) for the sunny LA day. I am all about an intricate sunglass frame. It gives your look more interest. For my bag I used a LPA woven handbag (similar here and affordable here). I like the shape of this woven bag because it isn’t your typical round or square woven bag. It comes with a crossbody strap, but I went for the top handle look.Last but not least, I threw on these sculptural Paola Vilas abstract earrings (more abstract earrings here and here) to amp up my look. Since I pulled back my hair into a low ponytail it was the perfect opportunity to show off these beautiful earrings. If only I didn’t drop and crack one while I was at the office…. Maybe with a crack in one of the earrings, it will add character? You guys tell me!
