New York Fashion Week is an exciting time for me to see new collections designers have worked hard on. Last year’s NYFW did not disappoint. I find new inspiration from each collection and over the years it is cool to not only see designers evolve, but past outfits of mine too. It gives me memories to see all the outfits I have worn to NYFW. In honor of all the memories I decided to throw it back to past NYFW outfits I have worn. Hopefully this gives you guys some ideas to wear during NYFW!When it snows during fashion week, it is important to dress accordingly. I wore some flared jeans (similar here and here) during this particular day to elongate my legs and stay warm. I remember throwing on this statement leather jacket and feeling boss walking around the streets of NYC. The best part was the design on the back of the jacket. A statement leather jacket is a piece that you will own for life, so make sure to invest in a great one (like here and here) that you can wear even after NYFW.Ruffles add a bit of texture to your ensemble. I wore this look two ways at last year’s NYFW. Although this outfit could have been boring, I elevated the look with a Self Portrait asymmetrical, ruffle blouse to give my look some interest. Because it was winter and I was in a spring season top, I threw on a coat. The blouse elevates your look and you can find some of my favorites here, here, and affordable here.Matching suit sets make you look put together and it is easily one of the simplest ways to make an impact with monochrome. I wore this power suit for a show last NYFW to look professional but made sure I got it in pink to add some vibrant color. Some that I like are these cool, affordable pinstripe suits here and here. You guys know I love patent leather, PVC, and vinyl items. I even did an entire post on them. I like wearing patent leather pants in a color, which I did back in February of 2017 at NYFW from Topshop. When you do a PVC pant in color it makes a pop and is refreshing from a basic colored pant. The daring outcome of the pants paid off and so I found these bold, interesting pants here and here to add to your closet.Faux fur coats are major. Wearing this one during the 2016 NYFW made me feel luxe but kept me so warm underneath (similar here and here). I think they just look ultra cool girl and can easily be thrown over anything.Another great thing about furry coats is that they look even cooler when they’re colored (like this one here and here).I own so much denim (It is a staple for a California girl.). I wore some Re/Done jeans while out and about during fashion week because I wanted to be comfortable all day. I like interesting hems like raw hems or embellishment at the ankles (like here and here). I started incorporating more denim during last years NYFW. Denim is always a great piece to add to your wardrobe because you can wear cool jeans over and over after fashion week.Polka dots are everywhere. You will see them all in the Spring and Summer. I wore a DVF polka dot dress (similar here and here) during last year’s NYFW under a coat. Since it was such a spring season dress, I utilized a sherling jacket (simiIar here here and here) to keep my look to match the winter season. It’s kinda cool looking back to see I wore polka dots before they became a hot trend this season.
