aimee song of song of style la guideOne of my most frequently asked questions is about where to eat and shop in different cities. Since I live in LA, this one comes up especially often, so I thought it was about time that I made an LA Guide of my favorite places for you! The map with the black points is of my favorite stores, and the white points are my favorite restaurants in LA! I hope this guide helps you if you ever visit LA, or even if you live here, but haven’t tried them out yet. Make sure to let me know if you try one of my recommendations and tell me what you thought! aimee song of song of style la guide1. Rachel Comey
This is one of my absolute favorite boutiques on Melrose place! You’ve seen me mention Rachel Comey on my Instagram and blog a lot recently, everything from their jeans to their mules and accessories are so chic. Definitely a must on my list!
8432 Melrose Place Los Angeles, CA 90069

2. Reformation
Everyone who comes to LA in search of new style vintage should stop at Reformation. Every single piece of clothing they make is not only sustainable but also sooo cute. You’ll leave with versatile pieces to wear on repeat and find yourself saying over and over again “Thanks, it’s Reformation,” as their tagline says.

3. Mixed Business
Known as one of Silver Lake’s best cool girl stores, you have to stop at Mixed Business. They house clean and sophisticated looks as well as some hand selected vintage pieces.
1820 Hyperion Ave Los Angeles, CA 90027

4. Individual Medley
Another super cool and well curated store in Silver Lake is Individual Medley. The store features local designers and has a nature inspired flair. You can find anything from incense to ceramics, hats and clothing here!
3176 Glendale Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90039

5. County LTD
Although this store only has mens clothing, I love to come and shop for homeware and art. If you have a knack for vintage inspired pieces like I do then you’ll love it here. It’s been a constant go-to with my new home renovations!
1837 Hyperion Ave Los Angeles, CA 90027

6. American Rag
Everyone in LA knows American Rag as a go to for both current brands and vintage pieces (especially the vintage denim). It’s rare I leave empty handed, there are always piles of new and exciting items to sift through!

Everyone knows that avocados are my favorite food, I probably consume 100x more avocados than the average person. This restaurant has recently been my favorite place to go for a quick avocado toast, which means a lot since I’m an avocado toast fanatic. The rustic interiors also makes the experience that much better!
7950 Melrose Ave Los Angeles, 90046

2. Escuela Taqueria
This super cozy and casual taco spot is my go-to for simple and delicious tacos. I get the Branzino and shrimp tacos and of course the guac. Definitely a must if you’re in the West Hollywood area!
7615 Beverly Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90036

3. Angelini
There’s nothing better than a great Italian meal, and Angelini is where I get my fix. I order the whole Branzino with vegetables which is so delicious, and of course their pastas and other dishes are equally amazing!
7313 Beverly Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90036

4. Sugarfish
Sushi is my second favorite food behind avocados, so naturally I make sure to go to the best places for both. Sugarfish is a well known spot for LA locals and rightfully so. They have the freshest fish and offer the best omakase experience. Not to mention their fish to rice ratio is perfect!
101 South La Brea Ave Los Angeles, CA 90036

5. Petty Cash
Another great place that serves up delicious tacos is Petty Cash. The tacos are a bit more “fancy” with options like octopus tacos (my personal favorite). Make sure to also order their super fresh ceviche, burnt brussels, and cauliflower nachos.
7360 Beverly Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90232

6. Destroyer
This has been a hot spot for instagrammers because it is just so aesthetically pleasing but also equally delicious. I always order the marinated mushrooms and the baby yams!
3578 Hayden Ave Culver City, CA 90232

7. The Malibu Cafe
If you get a chance to explore Malibu, the cafe at Calamigos Ranch should be on your go-to list. The salmon tacos, brussels sprouts salad, and homemade ice creams are worth the drive!
327 Latigo Canyon Road Malibu, CA 90265

8. Bestia
This modern yet trendy spot in the heart of DTLA’s arts district should absolutely be on your list to make reservations for. The roasted heirloom cauliflower is to die for as well as the Branzino which melts in your mouth!

  1. This post is so useful!
Although I do not plan on visiting LA in the near future, I will defenitely get back to this once a trip is on the agenda.
I think it would be a great idea to continue this series with other cities like New York or Paris.
