Asymmetrical Top & Frayed Denim

I really love fancy tops because I can just throw them on with any jeans and still look put together even though I just got ready in five minutes. This Self-Portrait asymmetrical top has been one of my go-to pieces for spring because it’s so easy to dress up with a skirt, or wear more casually with a pair of frayed hem denim like these Raey Jeans I’m wearing. Added a few pops of color with my new favorite Dior Sunnies and a pair of blush pink Raye Mules (similar here) Self-Portrait Asymmetrical Top

  1. Aimee,

I have seen this top all over social media and I love how you styled it. The off the shoulder/peek shoulder combination is amazing and definitely adds some interest. I honestly agree with you. The best thing about fancy tops is that you can keep everything simple and still make a statement!

The asymmetrical top is a bit posh for frayed jeans, which threw my sense of style.
Perhaps the top would be better suited for a white, flared or gore-style skirt. Rayon would be a nice choice of fabric as it has soft, sensuous drape. The jeans are more of a Boho look and would like great with an embroidered blouse reminiscent of the 60s. The jeans, unfortunately, are too short and perhaps would look nice with a rolled up pant leg, like the clam digger style. Kuddos on the shirt design, which sort of reminds me of Perry Ellis. As far as shirt stripes that run in opposing directions, the eye is kept active and for a petite, this could work.

  6. I love jumpsuits for the reasons you’ve mentioned, too; they’re super easy to style! I also love that depending on how fitting they are, they can be layered with a cute maxi dress to reveal only the top. I also love the selections you’ve shared here, too; that gingham one (3) is calling my name! Thanks for sharing, girlie, and I hope you’re having a great day so far!

  9. I love this top, Aimee! It looks so good paired with those jeans and mules, too. I can’t wait until I’m able to wear these kinds of tops again after having my baby because they’re not the most flattering with a baby bump, lol! Thanks for the inspo and I hope you have a great day!
