Denim Shorts and Vintage Blazer

Head in the clouds in LA! Well.. clouds of bougainvillea, that is. I’ve had such a productive week after coming back from Korea. We shot a lot of great content that I can’t wait for you guys to see, and I’ve made so much progress on my new house! I’m settling in bit by bit, and this week was pretty much dedicated to organizing all of my clothes. There are so many pieces that I forgot I even had because they’ve been in boxes for so long! I’m happy that I rediscovered these two-toned Chanel sling backs (similar and affordable here and here) that I used to have on repeat because they’re the perfect casual yet dressy shoe for when I’m running around from my house (which is still sort of a job site) to different meetings throughout the day. I’ve now gone from wearing these in Paris to the Celine show, to paired with Levi’s cut-off shorts that I’ve had since my San Francisco days! I remember I went thrifting and bought a bunch of Levi’s for $15 and made my own shorts out of them. The denim is such good quality that they’ve lasted 10 years–and they were already vintage when I bought them! That definitely beats buying a pair of shorts from Forever 21 that will hardly last a few months. I wore them with my go-to Two Songs rose tits tee under a Vintage Celine blazer (similar here and affordable version here) that I got from my mom. That’s definitely the kind of versatility I’m looking for! This blazer (similar here) is such a good example of why you should invest in a great quality piece. After years and years of my mom wearing this jacket, it’s my turn to have it on repeat. It’s still in amazing shape and the original buttons are so stunning. Sometimes when I put together outfits without thinking too much about it, but then I realize that every single piece is something that has its own story and makes me happy. My earrings (super similar here) are also vintage. I got them at a thrift store when I was shopping for picture frames for the office, and the store ended up being super over priced, but I found these earrings tucked away and they were only $15! They’re clip ons and just the right cool shape. MANGO has some really amazing affordable earrings right now! Chanel sling backs (similar and affordable here and here)

  1. I thought that for sure this blazer would be Balmain, so cool that it’s vintage and your mum had it for so long! I’m obsessed with buttons like these on blazers but as I can’t afford luxury just did a post about how to upgrade high street pieces to look more like this. Love that you paired it with shorts – I want to live in LA so much so I can mix up styles like this more! Jade xx

  3. Bright and easy to style. I love this relaxed tailored suit jacket worn atop white top tucked in blue denim shorts. I also like this LV structured bag, it gives a kind of vintage touch to its wearer. Every single detail makes me think of glamour.

  4. I’m a big fan of that vintage thing. Sometimes these treasures are so amazing even after decades. This blazer is absolutely gorgeous. But I can’t believe you had the Chanel pumps I’m craving for stored in a box……
You look great, but somehow different. A new make up routine?

  5. You’re such an impeccable stylist, like sheesh I always love everything you wear. And Levi’s are probably the best denim of all I bought some thrifted high waist ones and turned them into shorts. They were hands down the best shorts I’ve ever had because of the fit since I can never find any that are able to go past my thighs and butt yet still fit my waist perfectly.

  6. What a beautiful coat, Aimee! I also love how you’ve added the bandana around the bag straps, it adds such a cool contrast to the design and print. I also love those mules, too; the color combo is so pretty and perfect for spring! Thanks for sharing and I hope you’re having a great week so far!

  7. Another great post .The shots are lovely , the bougainvillea is such a wonderful background. Sometimes clothing can be more about the joy of having it , the story it carries ,and it’s longevity. Beware followers the inexpensive earrings are often made from metals that can be toxic.
