Cold Weather Beauty Routine For Fashion Week

It’s about time for another beauty skincare post! For my fashion week beauty routine, it is important for me to not overpack and only take my must-haves products because they can be heavy. This time, I brought the minimum amount of products because, first of all, New York hotels don’t usually have a lot of space. Although I did get pretty lucky with 11 Howard, which is my go-to hotel in New York City.

First thing in the morning, I start by prepping my skin with the Bioderma Sensibio Crealine H2O Micelle Water. This is a great makeup remover for sensitive eczema-prone skin like mine. I use it every morning and night because it is so easy and requires no rinsing after. Then I gently pad the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence on my skin without a cotton pad. On sunny days, I use the Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum, which helps to prevent sun spots and dark spots. However, since the New York weather was mostly gloomy, I only used this a few times. Next, I apply the Biossance revitalizer on my skin and hair. It makes my skin feel nourished but not oily or tacky. I discovered the brand Biossance about three months ago and I am completely in love because all their products are 100% natural. After that, I apply the Avene XeraCalm A.D. Lipid Replenishing Cream. This cream is extremely moisturizing which is perfect for the very cold weather in New York. If you don’t have really dry skin or you are looking for something lighter, I recommend the Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Rose Infused Nourishing Cream

I am really obsessed with facial oil, especially the Laura Mercier Infusion de Rose Nourishing Oil. I started using this oil a year and a half ago and I haven’t stopped ever since. I always bring it with me everywhere I travel. The other oil that I like is the Biossance Rose Facial Oil. If you have oily skin, don’t be put off by using oil on your face! You can use it at night right before bed and still get the moisturizing effect.

After my face is properly moisturized, I make sure to apply sunscreen to protect my skin against the UV rays. I am currently using “I Woke Up Like This Sun Cream”, which my friend Jenny got for me from Korea. I also recommend the Laura Mercier Daily Face Shield Broad Spectrum with SPF 40. I like these two sunscreens because they are light and work well with makeup.

During NYFW, I wear more makeup than usual so I cleanse my skin really well at the end of the day. First, I use the Kopari Coconut cleansing oil. I discovered Kopari from Revolve and I’ve been loving all of their coconut products. At home, I usually use the Laura Mercier cleansing oil, but since the bottle is a little too tall, I started traveling with this one. Afterwards, I use the Lagom Foam Cleanser from Peach & Lily. This is a Korean brand and it works really well for sensitive skin like mine. Lastly, I use the La Mer cleansing lotion. It’s milky and great for removing eye makeup. I have the travel size of it so it is really easy to carry around.

That’s it for my NYFW beauty routine! I am currently looking to add an eye cream to my routine but I haven’t found one that I like. Do you have any recommendations? Also, what are your beauty must-haves? Let me know! I always love to discover new skincare products.

  1. Try Annemary Borlind, the german organic brand. It’s famous for the eye creme. I have one, and it’s really good. Also, I recently found Marla Oil by John Paul Selects, and it is beyond amazing! It’s definitely worth trying!

I really like Kiehl’s creamy eye treatment with avocado but I also love Eve Lom eye cream because my eyes are really sensitive and these two are the only one that don’t make my eyes tingle.
Hope you find the right one for you! <3

  3. Hey Aimee,

I enjoyed this post. The winter tends to reek havoc on my skin as well. These tips/product recommendations were super helpful as I hope to play around with serums this season.

    Thanks for sharing,

    Isabel :)

    Hi Aimee,

Thank you for sharing your routine with us. I’m quite fond of Kiehl’s. Check out their Midnight Recovery Eye. This product is a great companion to their Midnight Recovery Concentrate oil. I’ve linked both below for your convenience.

Have a great weekend & much love from London,

    Sam xx

  5. I actually think the tights with the outfit looks great in the photos and with the dress and boots overall, such a fun fashion forward look with the polkadot dress! But, I do know what you’re talking about, that’s happened to me so many times, haha. I hope you’re having a great start to your week so far, beauty!

  6. Thank you so much for sharing what’s in your travel beauty bag <3 :) It's always hard to decide what to pack because I'm always scared to bring too little, so I always tend to overpack. I really need to learn to just pack the essentials! Would love it if you did a how-to post about what to pack!

  8. Wow these are all such fabulous recommendations! I’m not sure about a good eye cream but I’ve heard that Aerin make fabulous products that are good for your skin especially if its dry (that part of the face can get so dry!) I tend to use products that my derma from India has given me but I make the exception for things like the Neals Yard eye make up remover – it is literally a miracle in a bottle!

  9. I’m a very simple girl and usually use all natural products like Shea butter and oconut oil to moisturise and remove makeup! I’m trying La Prairie’s new Anti-aging cream at the moment though, expecting good results! :) Korean skincare is also said to be amazing, I’m dying to try something with starfish essence which is said to be the new beauty craze over there! x

From a fellow eczema sister to another- you may want to try Keep Cool Ocean Cream by Adaline.
It has a sort of a gel consistency and adds a little bounce to your skin.

  14. I just ordered the samples of the Boissance oil from their website (the regular one and the rose). I’ve been seeing them everywhere and I’ve heard they work really well. I love the Fresh Seaberry oil right now, it’s a light textured oil that doesn’t feel heavy yet it soothes my skin so much and makes it glow when it’s raw or extra dry. I also ordered the Indie Lee Squalane oil – I’ve heard really good things about it, that it feels very light and absorbs well!

  15. Thank you! I love hearing your skincare suggestions. My eyes are sensitive so I have a hard time with eye cream. Chanel makes an eye serum that’s really great! It is the only thing that I have ever tried that doesn’t bother my eyes. I have a sample of the la mer eye cream that I am trying on top of the chanel serum.
