Had the most amazing time in Miami! Art Basel is always one of my favorite trips of the year, and if you haven’t been, it should definitely be on your list for next year. First of all, who doesn’t want to escape winter and flee to Miami? Even Los Angeles has been feeling a little too cold for comfort lately. Here is my guide for where to stay and eat when you’re in Miami!
Where to stay: I stayed at the Nautilus South Beach, which was super nice and the food was delicious. I definitely recommend it. I fell in love with this chair and bought a super similar one that hangs from the ceiling as soon as I got back! I’ve also stayed at The Raleigh before, which has this view so what’s not to love? The Art Deco pool is so iconic and I love the retro lines.
Where to eat:
The Social Club at SurfcomberAvocado toast, duh! I’m always searching for the best avocado toast wherever I go, and the way to my heart is smoked salmon and avocado on a bagel this place doesn’t disappoint.
Sunny’sMore avocado toast, this time at Sunny’s which is a close walk from the Nautilus hotel. It comes in three different ways, so I got mine with red pepper flakes and arugula.
Joe’s Stone Crab (not pictured)
I don’t go to Miami without making a stop here. I went with Cuit last time who had really bad food poisoning (read: hungover) so he wasn’t eating, which meant I was eating for two. Definitely get the stone crab claws and the hash brown potatoes. Also, note to men: you have to wear sleeves. Cuit came in a tank top and they made him buy a Joe’s Stone Crab shirt.
What to Pack:Bright colors and comfortable but dressy shoes. I’m wearing a DVF wrap dress (similar here, and here that I’ve worn before, and affordable version here), and The Row kitten heel mules. I always pack dresses when I’m traveling. They’re the easiest thing to wear because you don’t really have to plan anything. I can’t get over Aureta’s Gucci sneakers! You have to visit Wynwood wall to see all of the amazing street art!The shoes I brought with me! My current obsession are these Marco de Vincenzo velvet high heel sandals (bonus, they also come in magenta). They’re surprisingly really comfortable, I think because of the thick strap. I’ve also had the Jimmy Choo mary jane pumps (affordable version here) on repeat, and The Row kitten heel mules because they’re super comfortable to walk in! Also brought the Alaia studded heels, Chanel pumps, and Jimmy Choo velvet heels, because how could you not? Totally in love with this pastel color scheme from Fendi by Cristina Celestino. You know I’m obsessed with velvet from my apartment tour video. My bed and my sofa are both upholstered in velvet and I think it’s having a really great moment right now. Couldn’t resist a little mirror selfie.. Wearing Alice & Olivia x Basquiat jeans, Maurie & Eve top (in pink and navy), and Jimmy Choo mary jane pumps (also in black). Let’s pretend tomorrow night never happened.
