I recently got back from my trip to Dubai and thought I’d share my favorite moments and what to wear if you go! I went there with the Simply Stylist conference as the keynote speaker and really loved meeting all of the middle east bloggers, and of course my readers from there too! The above photo was taken at the top of the Burj Khalifa. I had actually been once before, but I don’t think you can ever get tired of a view like that. Decisions, decisions at Level Shoes, which is the biggest shoe store in the world. It’s in the Dubai Mall. I’ve really never seen so many shoes in one place. I ended up going with a pair of Alaia heels and a pair of Marco de Vincenzo heels. I also loved the interiors! Serious inspo for some design projects I’m working on. Walking around outside the Dubai Mall to get some outfit photos! Wearing Citizens of Humanity Jeans, a Vince cami, and a L’Academie kimono. I went back again at night, because every 30 minutes, there’s an amazing fountain show that happens in the water. It’s so cool!! This time I was wearing a Zimmermann dress and Prada flats. I packed mostly midi and maxi dresses because it’s really hot there, but I brought along some kimonos and robes too so that I could respect the culture by covering up, but still stay chic. I wanted to keep coming back again and again. Especially because one the restaurants! I’m OBSESSED with Lebanese food and they have so much of it there. There’s a restaurant called Karam that my friend recommended to me and it was so delicious. Get the hammour, which is a local fish, hummus, and tabouleh. You’ll be happy. If you have time while you’re in Dubai, make the drive to Abu Dhabi to visit the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque (they have uber there so it’s super easy). This place was insanely beautiful and I’m SO glad that we did it. I love learning as much as I can about other cultures when I’m in that country and this was a great opportunity to do that. I heard that you had to be very covered up when you go (like more than usual), so I wore loose fitting jeans, and a long kimono that covered my arms, but it turns out the women are supposed to wear an Abaya and they will provide one for you when you get there. That’s a real penguin!! They have a ski slope and penguin sanctuary in the Mall of the Emirates!! It has snow and everything!Having some fun with my new phone case. I realize now that I was holding it upside down.. Stopping for some quick outfit shots and selfies at the Kempinksi Hotel. Outside wearing an Anna October dress, Valentino bag, and Chanel heels. To the House of Bazaar event, I wore a Michelle Mason silk dress and robe with the same heels. I took that selfie after 3 hours of sleep! I’m very thankful for the Laura Mercier Candleglow Concealer to hide those bags!
When you go to Dubai you MUST go to the desert to have the full experience. This was definitely one of my favorite parts of the trip.
