Fashion Week NYFW Outfit Song of Style

First Day of September New York Fashion Week

I started off New York Fashion Week with this pretty Chloe macrame lace inset dress and styled my whole outfit around this dress. Usually I preplan all of my outfits so that I don’t overpack and stress out about my outfits although today was definitely not the case. I decided to ditch the outfit I had planned to wear (a silk dress with a trench coat) since I didn’t realize how hot it was outside. Staying at a hotel with A/C tricks you into thinking the outside is just as nice. Anyways, I last minute threw on this Chloe dress that was the first thing hanging on my rack because my car was already downstairs and the show was supposed to start like now. Miraculously (more like because fashion people are always fashionably late) even though I got to the show late, I was still on time. I wore my Dior wrap around pumps (similar here and here) and a Chloe Georgia bag.untitled-4aimee_song_of_style_chloe_dress_chloe_sunnies_nyfwaimee_song_of_style_chloe_dress_dior_shoes_chloe_baguntitled-3aimee_song_of_style_chloe_dress_nyfwaimee_song_of_style_dior_shoes_chloe_dressaimee_song_of_style_chloe_sunnies_chloe_dress_nyfwMy second outfit (I know, I’m rolling my eyes too.) was to the Thakoon show in Dumbo. Omg, it was my first time in Dumbo (again, I know, I can’t believe it took me this long to visit Dumbo!) and the scenery of the bridge, and of the city is so stunning. I would totally move to New York if I could have that view. It’s not as crazy busy as the city although, I had to wait my turn in a sea of tourists including myself to take a photo with the bridge in the background. My snakeskin wedge boots (also in black) are from Acne and they were kind of an impulse purchase on my first day in New York but I’ve already worn them twice (see here) and they’re not so painful despite the height!aimee_song_of_style_nyfw_thakoonaimee_song_workout_nyfwaimee_song_of_style_nyfw_thakoon-skirt

  3. I love the first dress! I’ve never seen anything like it, it’s absolutely beautiful! The second outfit is also amazing, I love the skirt.

  4. I absolutely love these outfits! Especially the shoes and the skirt! I’m currently getting my wardrobe together and adding and getting rid of things. This has definitely given me some inspiration on what to add to my closet.

This year the fashion industry will see many changes occur and it all starts at NYFW. New ways on having a show have been introduced, the most dramatic sets have been designed and we see an increasing trend of designer collaborations. Celebrities have started playing such an important role to influence the customers today which is why these collaborations have increased. The ‘see now buy now’ approach is something that should change the way the industry operates.
