Exploring Burano and Murano in Venice

Processed with VSCO with a6 presetExploring Burano and Murano in Venice was high up on my list and I specifically packed this striped Caroline Constas Lena dress for my trip to Venice. I wore it with a striped fedora hat that I bought from a street vendor before we took a ferry to Burano. Every corner I turned, presented a picture perfect opportunity and no matter how horrible a photographer you might be, you just can’t take a bad photo here. To get to Burano and Murano, all you need to do is take a taxi boat/ferry. Burano is the island with the colorful buildings (aka an instagrammer’s dream) where I had the BEST squid ink pasta (more on my vlog!) and Murano is known for glass blowing. aimee_song_of_style_venice_streetVisiting Venice in May was perfect because not all the streets were occupied by the tourists so discovering empty streets like this was easy. I shot this photo before we headed to the ferry. aimee_song_of_style_caroline_constas_dress_schutz_stitched_sandals_venice aimee_song_of_style_caroline_constas_striped_dress_veniceaimee_song_of_style_caroline_constas_striped_dress_venice_2I wore my Caroline Constas dress (sleeveless pink version here, similar affordable here) with these cute Schutz sandals with pretty stitching. aimee_Song_of_style_venice_buildingsThis was the view in front of our hotel. We stayed at this hotel called L’Orologio which was right by the water and close to everything. We had breakfast by the water almost every day.Aimee Song of Style Striped DressOnce we got to Burano, I was ready to explore. Turning into alleyways was so much fun because you didn’t know what color building you’d run into! aimee_song_of_style_venice_striped_dressThe pretty pastel colored buildings in Burano provide the best photo background! aimee_song_of_style_venice_tularosa_skirt_topSince we were in Venice for almost a week we went back to Burano then to Murano wear they blow glasses (so many beautiful chandeliers) and this time since it was much warmer than the other day, I wore a two piece set from Privacy Please (also in black.) If you’re into maxi’s, there’s a similar striped versoin here.aimee_song_of_style_buran_privacy_please_striped_top_striped_skirtaimee_song_of_style_burano_veniceaimee_song_of_style_privacy_please_striped_top_and_skirt_schutz_sandals_venicePrivacy Please Muroc Ruffled Top and Skirt, Self Portrait x Le Specs Edition Four Sunglasses, Embellished Clutch, Schutz Sandals.

  1. One shade the more, one ray the less,
    Had half impaired the nameless grace
    Which waves in every raven tress,
    Or softly lightens o’er her face;
    Where thoughts serenely sweet express,
    How pure, how dear their dwelling-place…

  2. Killing it as usual, Aimee! These photos are beautiful. I love the colors. I went to Venice last summer and it was insanely hot so I really didnt get to enjoy like I should have. I definitely want to go back when its a bit cooler to really take it in!

  3. Oh my gosh I can’t even begin to tell you how beautiful you look in that first dress! The blue and white stripes and the tie detail are great and you made me want this dress so bad. I am still loving those sandals and the cute pom poms in a variety of colors. I thought that was cool that you wore it with your look. Anyway, I hope you are having fun!

  5. This is stunning – It looks like a photographers paradise! That, and the food must have been absolutely insane (No calories in Italy right?)

    You look beautiful in all the photos! I’ve been looking for a boater hat all summer but maybe I just need to go to Italy to get one!
