On-the-Go Cleansing Routine

aimee_song_of_style_mia_fit_cleanser_clarisonicI’ve talked about my travel beauty routine a lot, but I thought it was time to share the key steps I take in my On-the-Go Cleansing Routine, which is equally (or more!) important. I always take multiple steps to make sure that my skin looks its best and healthiest, but to keep my suitcase light, I only pack the most important steps when I travel. I usually start with an oil cleanser. Ever since fashion week I’ve been obsessed with the one by Laura Mercier because it cleans my makeup off really well. After making sure I’ve removed all my makeup, I rinse my face then gently cleanse with my Clarisonic.

My current favorite is the Clarisonic Mia FIT cleansing brush. I previously talked about a Clarisonic brush in a blog post about my fashion week beauty routine, but I’m so happy they came out with this smaller version that I can pack with me. I put the Clarisonic Sonic Radiance Skin Illuminating Cleanser on the brush and use it all over my face, focusing mostly on my forehead, chin, nose, and neck. I can really notice the difference when I use Clarisonic because it feels so gentle on my skin.

  2. I always hate seeing what Clarisonic comes out with next because I’m still using the old Clarisonic Mia, and I can’t resist the urge to want to buy the travel sized one. I love this device for assisting in removing makeup, but not for much else.
+ love the marble backdrop you used here..with the flowers..stunning visual, and tips.

  3. I love a good oil cleanser. Ooh, I heard about the travel sized Clarisonic recently and can’t wait to purchase it. Especially since I travel a lot & hit the gym quite a bit and want to cleanse immediately after to avoid breakouts.

    Thanks for sharing!

  4. Admittedly I don’t travel as much as you do, Aimee, and I doubt I ever will GRIN but to comment on your list, I love the Re:cipe Rose Petal Cleansing Oil. The best thing to ever happen to cleansers in general. That’s always my first line of cleansing :) and the smell is simply divine.

  5. I have the Clarisonic Mia 1 and sadly, it has been very disappointing. I purchased a cheapie off-brand about 10 years ago for $20 and it has a 360 rotating brush — it works better than the $89 Clarisonic I currently have. As a fashion designer, I am on the go a lot, too. So, I definitely agree with the compact size, as well as the oil cleanser you mentioned! There are a ton of awesome new oil cleansers on the market today. Lovely post! Thanks for sharing! :)

  6. I’ve heard so many mixed reviews about Clarisonic, I’m too scared to try one out. I’m so tempted though. They seems like they would clean out your pores & removes everything from your face really well!

  9. I totally need that little Clarisonic tool for travel! My biggest complaint traveling is that I can’t properly exfoliate my skin- especially during longer travel stints (2 weeks and on). I usually only travel with carry-on so minimizing the extras I bring is super important.
