48 Hours in London

I was recently in Europe to shoot an editorial with Jimmy Choo. We were shooting in Switzerland, but on the way there, and on the way back we had a day layover in London (bonus!). London is one of my favorite cities but I have to admit, I’ve never really gotten to explore because every time I’m there, I’m only there for such a short period of time. Here’s a list of things I’ve done during my 48 hours in London and how I made the most out of it!Aimee song wearing leather track pants, a sweater, cardigan, and nikes, carrying a large bag
#AirportSwag I always like to travel comfortably, but never lazy. I love these leather track pants by Designer’s Remix (affordable here) because they’re the perfect combo of casual and chic. Usually I wear my 3.1 Phillip Lim quilted sweatpants or some kind of stretchy jeans. I Paired with this Vince Sweater layered with a Zara cardigan (similar on sale here!), Nike Roshes, and my Ayda & Co. bag, and I was ready for the 9 hour flight to London!

I also don’t like to wear make-up on flights because it’s not good for your skin, so a pair of giant sunnies is a must like these Super by RETROSUPERFUTURE sunnies to cover up my #NoMakeup look

buckingham palace in LondonFirst stop: Buckingham Palace. I started my day at 8am and walked over to Buckingham Palace from my hotel which was about 15 minutes away. I suggest starting your day early to avoid tourists!

Aimee song standing on the tower bridge in LondonWhen I’m traveling in a city, I always try to walk everywhere. Not only do you get to see more than you do from the inside of a car, but you get a little exercise to help cope with eating 6 croissants for breakfast. Luckily my hotel was very central and everything that I wanted to see was within walking distance. I started with a walk through St. James Park to Buckingham Palace, on to see Big Ben, then past the London Eye, and over the Tower Bridge.

After that, I passed by Liberty London for a shoe shot/flower shot then made my way to Soho to wind down with some coffee and eat lunch at the best little vegan restaurant called Mildred’s. You can’t skip it if you’re in London and love vegan food as much as I do! I suggest going to Mildred’s right before lunch hours because it got packed really fast.

aimee_song_of_style_hotel_breakfastSecond day in London! I woke up super early again and started the day with breakfast in my room then headed towards Notting Hill.

I passed by Liberty London again on my way to Sketch London and couldn’t resist taking a photo of the pretty flowers outside. Omg, it’s sooo pretty!!aimee_song_of_style_sketch_london simee_song_of_style_sketchThe rest of the trip seemed to revolve around pink actually. From pretty Notting Hill, to a pink taxi, and then to the coolest restaurant called Sketch. Every room is designed differently, and in one of them everything is pink! You’ll love this place if you like interior design.

  10. I totally forgot you had REALLY light hair. I thought the photos were of Dani at first lol

Congrats on 3 million and everything you’ve worked so hard for up to this point. You absolutely deserve it. Happy Holidays!

  11. Love this whirlwind snap shot of your experience in London. Didn’t quite make it to sketch though I wanted to so badly! So many cute cafes and restaurants with amazing interiors in London. Will have to make a sketch a priority for my next visit!

  12. Looks like you got a lot done in 48 hours.
Love how casual your travel looks are. The shoes looks comfy and perfect for sightseeing. Since you walk everywhere you need good shoes :)
I 100% agree with you on not wearing makeup on the plane.
I never thought about wearing sunglasses, but I will bring some next time so I don’t look so tired and pale :p

  13. Looks like a fun trip! I hear you on both comfortable but not lazy airport clothes and not wearing makeup in flight. P.S. I’m tired of seeing adults in their pj’s at the airport!!!

  14. London is my absolute FAVORITE city! I loved your photos. Totally agree with you about walking everywhere – best way to see the city and get some exercise all at the same time. Plus, it makes room for their awesome fish & chips ;) If I only had 48 hours in London I would be sure to make sure to hit up the Top Shop flagship store! Can never go there without going at least once!

  15. Wow, looks like you had a wonderful time, beautiful! I’m swooning over this restaurant with all the pink; those chairs are so beautiful and look like flower petals! Thanks so much for sharing your travel tips (I never knew that wearing makeup on a flight isn’t good for your skin), as well as the camera you use for your posts.

I love how down-to-earth you’ve remained throughout the years and your success. I wish you much continual growth and success because it’s people like you who truly deserve it :)

Have a wonderful start to your week, beauty!

  16. Wow you definitely made the most of your time in London as you’ve seemed to have seen so much! Despite living in London half the time, I’m still yet to visit Sketch but I really need to change that soon. It’s my ultimate dream to live in a pastel coloured house in Notting Hill – one day! :) x
