I was recently in Europe to shoot an editorial with Jimmy Choo. We were shooting in Switzerland, but on the way there, and on the way back we had a day layover in London (bonus!). London is one of my favorite cities but I have to admit, I’ve never really gotten to explore because every time I’m there, I’m only there for such a short period of time. Here’s a list of things I’ve done during my 48 hours in London and how I made the most out of it!
#AirportSwag I always like to travel comfortably, but never lazy. I love these leather track pants by Designer’s Remix (affordable here) because they’re the perfect combo of casual and chic. Usually I wear my 3.1 Phillip Lim quilted sweatpants or some kind of stretchy jeans. I Paired with this Vince Sweater layered with a Zara cardigan (similar on sale here!), Nike Roshes, and my Ayda & Co. bag, and I was ready for the 9 hour flight to London!
I also don’t like to wear make-up on flights because it’s not good for your skin, so a pair of giant sunnies is a must like these Super by RETROSUPERFUTURE sunnies to cover up my #NoMakeup look
First stop: Buckingham Palace. I started my day at 8am and walked over to Buckingham Palace from my hotel which was about 15 minutes away. I suggest starting your day early to avoid tourists!
When I’m traveling in a city, I always try to walk everywhere. Not only do you get to see more than you do from the inside of a car, but you get a little exercise to help cope with eating 6 croissants for breakfast. Luckily my hotel was very central and everything that I wanted to see was within walking distance. I started with a walk through St. James Park to Buckingham Palace, on to see Big Ben, then past the London Eye, and over the Tower Bridge.
After that, I passed by Liberty London for a shoe shot/flower shot then made my way to Soho to wind down with some coffee and eat lunch at the best little vegan restaurant called Mildred’s. You can’t skip it if you’re in London and love vegan food as much as I do! I suggest going to Mildred’s right before lunch hours because it got packed really fast.
Second day in London! I woke up super early again and started the day with breakfast in my room then headed towards Notting Hill.
Couldn’t just walk past this door without taking a photo! I’m obsessed with these gorgeous pastel colors all over Notting Hill. A must-see in London!
Speaking of pastels, look at this pretty pink taxi!
I passed by Liberty London again on my way to Sketch London and couldn’t resist taking a photo of the pretty flowers outside. Omg, it’s sooo pretty!! The rest of the trip seemed to revolve around pink actually. From pretty Notting Hill, to a pink taxi, and then to the coolest restaurant called Sketch. Every room is designed differently, and in one of them everything is pink! You’ll love this place if you like interior design.
