Have you ever come across tall white palm trees and an entire building and its surrounding painted in white while scrolling through your Instagram? Last month, I finally visited the infamous Sunset Pacific Motel aka the Bates Motel, all painted white by French artist Vincent Lamouroux and his team. It’s located at the intersection between Bates and Sunset if you ever want to visit.
Growing up in L.A., I’ve passed by this spot many, many times before but never really noticed it. I love how the place turned it into somewhat of a blank canvas. Of course my first thought was, oh no, how could he paint the palm trees but apparently they used ecologically-safe lime wash which is a much safer version of paint.
On this hot day, I wore a white C/Meo Collective pleated bustier and a nice pale pink C/Meo Collective culottes with my trusty Isabel Marant chain heels. Culottes can be tricky because of its length and silhouette but this pair hits my leg at the right spot plus, I really love the color. Nicholas has a very similar pair and if pink isn’t your color, try these pair from Rebecca Taylor. Forever 21 also has a very affordable version and I’m in love with these white culottes from Fifth Label.
