Festival Inspired Neutral Nails

song_of_style_festival_nailsHi everyone! Hope you guys are having a great week! As you know, last weekend I attended the Coachella Music Festival, and being a nail art lover, I wanted to sport some nail art that would be festival ready! Since I still have my day job as an interior designer where I need to look somewhat professional, I didn’t want to go all out with neon festival nails, so I did my own take on festival nails by doing them in neutrals. Special thanks to the lovely Michelle Saunders from Essie who helped execute my idea!photo-74We used: Find Me an Oasis, Chinchilly, Blanc, Licorice, Sand Tropez.

Bracelets from L to R: Cartier Love Bracelet, Tiffany & Co. Atlas Bangle, Vita Fede Titan Bracelets, Anarchy Street Love Bracelet.NailTutorial1. Start with clean nails and a base coat. We used the Essie base coat in gel since I was going for gel nails.

2. Paint your nails white. (I did my white nails in gel so that if I got tired of my designs, I could still keep the white)

3. Once you have your white polish on, determine where you’d like your neutrals to go. I did different placements for my left and right hand.

4. Apply your neutral polish over the white gel nails (if you decide not to do gel, apply your neutrals directly over your base coat.)

5. Start painting palm trees, and tribal print designs over your dried nails! The pro about having gel nails as oppose to regular polish is that whenever you make a mistake, you can still keep your white rather than starting all over!
